Chinese Artist Cai Guo-Hang hosts the world’s largest daytime fireworks display at the Museum of Modern Art in Doha, Qatar…. and it is lovely.
You are more likely to be killed by a bullet shot in jubilation, than a bullet shot in hatred
If you are hit by a bullet from celebratory gunfire there is about a 32% chance that you will be killed. There is about a 2% to 6% mortality rate associated with normal gunshot wounds. Therefore you are at least five times more likely to die from being hit by celebratory gunfire if it hits you.
The higher mortality rate is due to the increase in likelihood of head injuries from falling bullets.

Pirates used eye patches to see in the dark hold
It has been speculated that pirates of yore used eye patches to help them see in the dark hold. Moving from the blazing sunlight of the ship’s deck down into the inky hold would have taken minutes to acclimatise and so using an eyepatch would have helped in battle.
